Visit to Zhoushan Shipyard

On November 20, 2016, the Deputy Director for Science, Doctor in Technical Sciences, Professor Zaytsev Valery visited the shipyard in the People’s Republic of China “Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard Co., LTD”, located on Zhoushan Island, which is not far from Shanghai.
This shipyard is the main enterprise of the local industrial park, which has a total investment of about 4 billion yuan and covers an area of about 1.6 million square meters with a coastline of about 2.5 km. The shipyard is one of the key enterprises in Zhejiang Province.
The enterprise has passed the certification of quality management system, environmental management system, professional occupational safety management system and energy management system certification.
The shipyard has two dry docks of 300000 tons and 80000 tons each, a floating dock of 30000 tons, a quay with nearly 2000 meters long quay, a 900 tons gantry crane and two 500 tons gantry cranes. The annual steel processing capacity can reach up to 300000 tons, and the total displacement of ships built in a year can be up to 2.52 million tons.
During the visit to the shipyard, a tour of the shipyard was conducted for the Deputy Director for Science, Doctor in Technical Sciences, Professor Valery Zaytsev. The production capacities of the shipyard and equipment were shown.
The meeting resulted in the agreements between the Chinese Shipyard and the Ukrainian Design Bureau on cooperation in the field of ship design.
