The architectural and construction type of the ship is steel, single-hulled, welded, twin-screw (2 full-turn azimuth thrusters), diesel, single-decked, with excessive freeboard, aft engine room location, and a panoramic view wheelhouse. The towing hook and side bollards provide towing of ships and floating structures in open waters. The bow winch and bow bollard assist in mooring (towing) ships at anchorages and in ports. The vessel is equipped with a fire-fighting system for other ships and port facilities.

The sailing area is limited to R2 – navigation in sea areas with waves of a 3-percent probability height of 7.0 meters, with a distance from a place of refuge of no more than 100 miles and an allowable distance between places of refuge of no more than 200 miles. Regular sailing in thin, scattered ice of non-Arctic seas up to 0.5 meters thick.
The vessel complies with the requirements of the Ship Register Rules, international conventions, sanitary regulations, and safety standards.
