The architectural and structural type of the vessel is steel, single-hulled, welded, twin-screw (2 fully rotating azimuth thrusters), diesel-powered, single-decked, with excessive freeboard, aft engine room placement, and a panoramic-view wheelhouse. The towing hook and side bollards ensure the towing of ships and floating structures in open waters. The bow winch and bow bollard facilitate ship piloting (towing) at anchorages and in ports. The vessel is equipped with a firefighting system for other ships and port facilities.
- Towing of ships and floating structures;
- Piloting ships in ports and berthing at the dock;
- Navigation in icy conditions (ice class notation Arc4);
- Firefighting on other ships and port facilities.
The navigation area is limited to R2 – navigation in sea areas with wave heights of 3-percent probability of 7.0 m, staying no more than 100 miles away from a place of refuge, and allowing a distance between places of refuge of no more than 200 miles. In the summer-autumn navigation period in the Arctic, navigation in sparse one-year-old ice up to 0.8 m thick. In the winter-spring navigation period in the Arctic, navigation in sparse one-year-old ice up to 0.6 m thick. Year-round navigation in freezing non-Arctic seas under light ice conditions.
The vessel complies with the requirements of the RS rules, international conventions, sanitary regulations, and safety techniques.
